Victron Phoenix Inverter 12/800 120V – VE.Direct, GFCI Duplex Outlet (UL458)
$271.15
800W pure sine inverter with a built-in GFCI duplex outlet and VE.Direct port. UL458 listed — the version to fit when the build needs to pass inspection.
The same 800W pure sine wave output as the standard Phoenix, with two differences that matter on a finished build: a GFCI duplex outlet built into the unit, and a VE.Direct communication port.
The GFCI outlet is the point
A ground fault circuit interrupter cuts power the instant it detects current leaking to ground — the kind of fault that happens when something gets wet or a cable chafes through. In a vehicle, where everything vibrates and condensation is a fact of life, that is not a theoretical risk.
Having it built into the inverter means the protection is there without wiring a separate GFCI outlet downstream. On a van or camper being inspected or insured, a UL458-listed inverter with integrated GFCI is a much easier conversation than a bare inverter and a DIY outlet.
VE.Direct
The communication port lets the inverter talk to other Victron gear — a GX device, a Cerbo, or a monitoring setup. It means the inverter shows up in your system overview alongside the solar controller and battery monitor rather than being an isolated box.

Note on the rating
The UL458 continuous rating is 650W, lower than the nominal 800W figure, because UL tests continuous output under stricter conditions. That is a more honest number to build around. If you need genuine sustained 800W+, look at the 12/1200.
