The problem with a stack of utility boxes in a flat case is that you can only see the top one. This case sets five 3700-series StowAways on an angled platform at 15 degrees, so every box faces you and you pick the one you want by looking at it rather than unloading the lot onto the deck.

It is a hard case, not a bag. The shell takes being stood on, kicked across a truck bed and rained on, and the clear DuraView covers and doors mean you are not opening things to find out what is inside. There is an expandable pocket on the back for the odds and ends that never fit in a box, and rubber feet so it stays put on a wet surface.

Where it fits. At 23 inches long and 14 pounds loaded this lives in a truck bed, a boat locker or a garage shelf. It is not a walk-to-the-bank case — if you hike in, the Weekend backpack is the right answer and costs less. Buy this if your fishing starts at a tailgate or a transom.
