Victron SmartSolar MPPT 250/60-TR Solar Charge Controller – 250V Input, Bluetooth
$512.00
250V panel input with 60A charge current. The high-voltage option — lets you run long series strings on thin cable, which is what you want on a big or awkward roof.
Where the 150V controllers cap out, this one keeps going. A 250V input ceiling means you can put more panels in series before hitting the limit, and that changes what is possible on a difficult roof.
Why 250V matters
Series wiring adds voltage while keeping current the same. Four panels in series at 250V carry the same amps as one panel — so the cable from roof to controller can be thin, cheap and easy to route, even over a long run through a high-top van or a trailer.
Panel voltage also rises in cold weather, sometimes by 20% or more. A 150V controller running a string near its limit on a warm day can exceed that limit on a cold morning and shut down. The 250V ceiling gives you room to not think about it.
60A of charge current
Roughly 850W of panel on a 12V system, or 1,700W on 24V. Pairs naturally with a large array on a 24V or 48V house system, where the higher system voltage makes everything downstream easier too.

Which one do you need
The choice between the 150/70 and this 250/60 is about panel layout, not just wattage. If you are running long series strings or working in cold conditions, the extra voltage headroom here is worth more than the extra 10 amps there. Send us your panel specs and roof layout and we will tell you which way to go.
