Solar and alternator charging cover you on the road. This is for the other times: the night before you leave, when you want the bank at 100% rather than wherever the drive home left it, or a campsite with a power hookup.

A charger, not a trickle charger

An automotive trickle charger maintains a starter battery. This fills a house bank properly, at 20 amps, with a multi-stage profile matched to the chemistry — bulk, absorption, float, and storage mode if it stays plugged in for weeks.

On a 100Ah bank, 20A takes a half-empty battery to full in roughly three hours. On lithium, it will actually reach 100%, which matters because a partially charged lithium bank is the usual reason people think their battery is “losing capacity” when it is not.

Set it for your battery

Bluetooth built in. Choose the chemistry and charge profile in VictronConnect rather than hoping a preset is close enough. AGM, gel, flooded and lithium all want different voltages, and getting it right is the difference between a battery that lasts five years and one that lasts two.

One output or three?

This is the single-output version — one battery bank. The 3-output model charges a house bank and a starter battery from the same unit, which is worth the extra if you want both maintained while the vehicle sits.
