The TekFire PRO with an LED light built into the base. Double-press the power button to switch the light on, double-press again to switch it off. That is the whole difference, and for a thing already living in your pocket it is a sensible one.

Specifications

• Rechargeable lithium-ion battery
• Built-in LED light in the base, double-press to toggle
• Single charge indicator light — flashes red while charging, solid red when full
• Weight 2.1 oz
• Windproof, flameless, no butane, no altitude adjustment
• 10-second time-out safety feature
• ParaTinder wrist lanyard and USB cord included

All three TekFire lighters work the same way: an electric arc instead of a flame. No butane, nothing to spill, nothing to leak, and no altitude adjustment — it works the same at 10,000 ft as at sea level, which a butane lighter does not. The arc is windproof.

Each one carries a ParaTinder wrist lanyard that unwinds to about 3 ft of paracord with one fire-starting tinder thread in it, and each has a 10-second time-out as a safety feature. A USB charging cord is included.

Care — worth reading before first use

UST is specific about this: when you use the ParaTinder lanyard, ignite only the red inner strand. Burning the white inner core or the outer jacket leaves melted plastic residue that blocks the electrical arc. If the electrodes do foul, clean them with a wooden toothpick or a plastic knife, and never while pressing the arc button.

UST does not publish the charging port type on any TekFire model, nor a number of ignitions per charge, so we do not state either.

UST does not publish the battery capacity, recharge time, or the LED’s output and runtime.

Warranty

UST covers its own-brand products with a Limited Lifetime Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. It excludes batteries, consumable and single-use items, normal wear, cosmetic damage, commercial use and unauthorized repair, and it runs to the original owner with proof of purchase, US residents only.
