This is the one that stays in the truck. A portable compressor is a thing you fetch, clip on and pack away. An on-board compressor is wired once and then it is simply part of the vehicle — you air down at the trailhead and air back up at the pavement without opening a box.

Twin permanent-magnet motors in an aircraft-grade 6061 aluminum body. Aluminum is the right material here for a reason that is not weight: it sheds heat. Aluminum fins and an integrated cooling fan pull heat out of a sealed unit that is otherwise working hard under a hood.

Built to live outside the cabin: rated IP55 against moisture and dust, fully enclosed with no exposed moving parts, with a thermal cutoff on the motors and a 150 PSI pressure safety cutoff.

What ships with it: an integrated universal base plate that will mount in several orientations, an illuminated power switch pre-installed on the compressor assembly, and a complete wiring harness with two 40 amp fuses. Backed by a 4 year limited warranty.

It is also the matched partner to the ADS system. Up Down Air's four-tire Air Delivery System is built to run on this compressor — one air source, four tires at once, equalized. The air outlet port takes multiple fitting configurations, and paired with an air tank it will run air tools and an impact gun.

Requirements: 12 volt electrical system and somewhere to bolt it down. Mounting brackets for specific vehicles are sold separately.
