What the number means. Plano's 3500, 3600 and 3700 are box sizes, not bag sizes, and nobody explains that anywhere on the packaging. 3700 is the big tray — roughly 14 x 9 inches — the one most bass and inshore anglers already own a stack of. This is the bag built around them.

It carries the same moulded waterproof base as the rest of the Weekend line, which is the part that actually matters. Set a cloth-bottomed bag on a wet dock and it wicks straight through to whatever is inside; this one has a hard tray underneath, so where you put it down stops being a decision you have to make.

Inside there is one main compartment sized for the boxes, die-cut sleeves that stop tools shifting and chewing the lining, and quick-access slip pockets outside for the clippers and leader spool you reach for constantly.

Which size you actually want. If your boxes are 3700s, buy this. If you are starting from nothing and fish light, the 3600 is a third smaller, costs less, and is easier to carry — most people buy too much bag the first time. The 3500 is a day bag, not a system.
