This is the size most people should buy, and most people don't. Plano's 3500, 3600 and 3700 refer to the utility boxes a bag holds, not the bag. The 3600 box is around 11 x 7 inches — big enough for crankbaits, jigs, terminal tackle and soft plastics, small enough that a loaded bag still carries comfortably for a day on the bank.

The usual mistake is buying the 3700 because bigger sounds better, then hauling a half-empty bag that is a third larger and heavier than it needs to be. Unless you already own a stack of 3700 boxes, start here.

The build is the same across the Weekend line, and the base is the part that earns its keep: a moulded waterproof tray rather than coated cloth, so setting it down on a wet dock or a muddy bank does not wick through to your gear. Inside is a single main compartment sized for the boxes, die-cut sleeves to stop tools shifting, and slip pockets outside for the things you grab every few minutes.
