An enclosure is a step beyond walls. Walls close the awning in; an enclosure gives you four walls and a floor — a sealed room off the side of the vehicle, off the dirt, that you can leave standing while you drive away in the morning if you are staying more than a night.

That floor is the part people underrate. It keeps dust, mud and insects out of a space you are going to be barefoot in, and it makes the difference between a shelter and somewhere you actually want to sit at the end of a long day.

Because it is built for the wrap-around awnings rather than the straight ones, this encloses a space that carries around the rear corner of the vehicle — which usually means the tailgate ends up inside the room with you. If your kitchen lives in the back of the truck, that is the whole argument for it.

Enclosures are model-specific. This one does not fit the straight 2.0 or 2.5 awnings, which have their own. Check the model name on your travel cover before ordering.
