The flagship. Twin 11,000 BTU propane burners, each pressure-regulated — the only stove in GSI's line where they state regulation, and it is the thing that keeps output steady as a bottle empties instead of fading over the last third. Dual piezo ignition, one per burner. Folding locking legs give you full table-height cooking without hunting for a table, and the whole stove collapses to 1.4 inches for storage.

In the box: regulator, 2 burner heads, pot support, upper windscreen, side windscreens, igniter, handle and 2 flame adjusters. There is a non-stick coated drip pan for boil-overs, an integrated carry handle, and the whole thing expands automatically as you open it. 20 x 12.4 x 1.4 inches. Magnesium, aluminum, stainless and steel.

GSI note that the pre-production prototype won a Gear Junkie Best of Show award. Make of that what you will — the regulated burners are the reason to buy it.

Fuel: propane

This is the one GSI are explicit about: “Suitable for all propane 1lb fuel canisters or LPG tanks with appropriate adaptor.” So a standard 1 lb green bottle, or a bigger refillable tank with the right hose. Our 5 ft Propane Adapter Hose is that adapter — it connects a Type-1 propane appliance to a QCC1 tank between 5 and 20 lb.

GSI's own product photo shows how it sits in use: the bottle stands on the ground beside the stove on a short hose off the regulator, rather than threading onto the side of the stove. Nothing hangs off the body to make it lopsided, and you do not need to buy anything extra to run a 1 lb bottle — the regulator in the box is that hose.

Safety — please read before you buy

This stove is for outdoor use only. Never use it in a tent, a vestibule, a vehicle, a house, or any enclosed area. It produces carbon monoxide, a gas with no odor and no color, and improper use can cause suffocation, poisoning or death. Never block airflow to the burner or to the stove's venting. It can ignite nearby materials and flammable liquids or vapors, so keep the stove and the fuel away from other heat sources. Never let children operate it, and keep them at least 10 feet away from the cooking area.

GSI's own page for this stove carries the California warning but not the outdoor-use-only block that the rest of their stoves carry. We have included it, because a twin-burner propane stove is exactly the kind that ends up under an awning or in a van doorway on a wet night, and that is how people get hurt.

Care

Hand wash with warm, soapy water and dry thoroughly; avoid abrasive cleaners. Let the stove cool completely first, and check that the burner ports are clear and the fuel fitting is clean and undamaged before every trip.

Which GSI stove takes which fuel

GSI's camp stoves split into three fuel families that do not interchange, and their own listings never lay this out in one place. Ours does:

• Threaded isobutane canister — the screw-on 110 g and 230 g canisters. Glacier Camp Stove, Glacier Canister-Top Stove, Glacier Remote Stove.
• Butane cartridge — Pinnacle Radiant, Selkirk 270.
• Propane — Pinnacle Pro 2-Burner, Selkirk 460+, Selkirk 540+.

Two adapters bridge between them: the Butane-Isobutane Adapter lets a butane cartridge feed an isobutane stove, and the 5 ft Propane Adapter Hose lets a Type-1 propane appliance run off a refillable 5–20 lb tank instead of disposable bottles. Both are listed separately.
