MOLLE panels turn flat interior surfaces into mounting space. The grid is a standardised 1.25 inch square, so off-the-shelf MOLLE pouches, straps and mounts fit — you are not locked into one brand's accessories.

Frame-mounted panels use the vertical space along the sides of the cap, above whatever is on the bed floor. That is dead space in most builds, and it is the natural place for long, light items — axes, shovels, poles.
