A mosquito coil holder with a tin case, glass fiber mesh and a nylon hanger. 5.35 in. (13.6 cm) across, 0.81 in. (2 cm) deep, 71 g.

Can be hung or laid flat, and the ashes stay inside the holder. That is the problem it solves. A coil burning on a saucer sheds hot ash onto a table, a tent floor or dry grass, and it has to sit somewhere flat and still — which is never where you want the smoke.

Hung from an awning strut or a chair back, the smoke sits at the height of the people it is protecting instead of at ankle level.

The mesh is glass fiber, so it takes the heat without scorching, and the tin shell means you can pick it up and move it before it is fully cold.

Coghlan's does not state whether coils are included, so buy this as the holder and plan on supplying your own.

Use coils outdoors and in moving air, not inside a closed tent or a vehicle.
