An emergency survival bag in aluminized film with yellow tape edging. 84 in. x 36 in. (213 x 91.5 cm). 2.6 oz. (74 g). Windproof and waterproof.

A bag beats a blanket, every time. A survival blanket has to be held closed, and the moment you fall asleep or stop concentrating it opens and the wind takes your heat. A bag is already closed. You get in it.

Seven feet by three is full adult length — you are inside it, not under it.

Windproof is the quality that actually keeps you alive. Moving air strips body heat far faster than still cold air, and a sealed film barrier stops that completely.

2.6 ounces. There is no honest reason not to have one in every pack. It weighs less than a chocolate bar and it is the difference between a cold night and a dangerous one.

Put one in each pack, each vehicle and each boat. It is the single highest-value item per ounce in outdoor kit.
