A 30-piece first aid kit in a rigid hard-shell case with a latching lid.

A hard shell does one job a soft case cannot: it stops the contents being crushed. In a loaded truck or the bottom of a pack, a soft kit gets compressed into a brick of bent bandages and split antiseptic packets.

Thirty pieces covers the small stuff — cuts, scrapes, splinters, blisters. Enough for one or two people on a weekend.

The case stacks and does not deform, which is why these live well in a drawer or a cargo box.
