A compact heat gun for shrinking adhesive-lined connectors. A lighter will shrink the tube but scorches the jacket and rarely gets the adhesive flowing evenly; a heat gun does both properly.
Small enough to live in the toolbox with the crimper, which is the point — the tool you actually have with you is the one that gets used.
