Why this kit

Winter is when people get stuck. Mud that was dust in July, snow on a shaded north slope, a rut that looked shallow. The gear that gets you out is not complicated, but it has to be rated, and it has to be in the truck before you need it.

This is the set we would put behind the seat: something to pull with, something to connect with, something to dig with, and something to put under a spinning tire.

What's in the kit

• Brute Kinetic Recovery Rope, 7/8" x 20', with storage bag — stretches and snaps back, so the recovery vehicle's momentum does the work instead of a jarring yank. Easier on both frames than a tow strap.
• Combo Pack: 5/8" Soft Shackle with collar, 44,500 lb, and 6.25" Recovery Ring, 45,000 lb, black — synthetic, so if something lets go it drops instead of flying like a steel shackle. The ring redirects a winch or rope pull around an obstacle.
• Multi-Functional Military Style Utility Shovel with nylon case — folds down, digs out packed snow and mud ahead of the tires.
• Recovery Ramp, small, with pull strap and storage bag — traction under the tire when digging alone won't do it.

A word on using it

A kinetic rope stores real energy. Always connect to a rated recovery point on the frame, never to a ball hitch, and keep everyone clear of the line during a pull. If your truck has no rated recovery point, ask us before you need one.
