Why the app version is worth the extra

Preset disconnect profiles are built around typical lead-acid behaviour. Lithium wants different numbers, and different lithium chemistries want different numbers again. On a 48V bank that might represent several thousand dollars, being able to set the exact cut-off voltage your battery manufacturer specifies is worth the difference in price.

You also get to set the reconnect threshold separately, which stops the nuisance cycling that happens when a disconnect voltage and a recovery voltage are too close together.

And you can see it

Bluetooth means the unit reports its state to your phone. You know whether it has tripped, and when, rather than finding out because the fridge is warm.
