An aluminum cup with a lid, weighing 18 grams, that burns gel or solid fuel. It is the lightest way to put heat under a Trangia — about a sixth of the brass spirit burner — and it has literally nothing in it to break.

🔴 It will not run on alcohol. This is the single most important thing about it. Methylated spirit and denatured alcohol need the wick in the spirit burner; this burner takes gel or tablets. Trangia name BCB Fire Dragon gel or solid, Vango gel, and Esbit hexamine tablets as examples — and they add a caution worth repeating: the availability of these fuels “varies for different countries and can be difficult to find.” Work out where you will buy fuel before you buy the burner.
