$22.99

Brake grease is its own product for a reason: it has to lubricate metal against rubber and plastic without swelling or attacking either, and ordinary grease will destroy a caliper boot. This one is silicone based and compatible with most rubber compounds including nitrile and nylon.
Where it goes: caliper slides, guide pins, bushings, the contact points where the pads slide in the caliper housing, self-adjuster mechanisms on rear discs, and parking brake cables and linkages. It will also damp the vibration between pad and piston that causes squeal.
On a trailer that sits most of the year this is the difference between brakes that release and brakes that drag — seized caliper slides are the single most common reason a stored trailer comes back hot on one wheel.
Where it does not go: between the pad and a noise suppression shim. Use it sparingly on the back of a bare pad or between the shim and the caliper.
