Same idea as the full-size ramp — dig out, wedge it under the tire, drive out — in a package that takes less room. On a build where storage space is the binding constraint, a shorter ramp you actually carry beats a longer one left in the garage.

The pull strap is how you retrieve it once you have driven over it and buried it behind you.

If you routinely travel in deep sand or heavy mud, the full-size ramp gives you more surface to float on. For rutted tracks and occasional bogging, this size is enough.
