Olicamp RBS Infrared Metal-Mesh Stove System — 1.5 L

$124.99

A remote-canister radiant-mesh stove with a 1.5 L heat-exchanger pot. Windproof by design.

SKU: 328950 Categories: , , Brand:

A canister stove is the fastest way to boil water in camp, and the only real questions are how much it weighs, how fast it boils and how stable it is under a full pot. Here are Olicamp’s own published figures for this one — and note the volume the boil time refers to, because manufacturers quote it against different amounts of water and the numbers are not comparable otherwise.

This is the serious one. Two things make it different from every other stove here:

It is a remote-canister design. The canister sits outside on a hose, which means the stove itself can go inside a windscreen and sit low and stable under a heavy pot. Top-mount stoves cannot do that.

And the burner is a radiant metal mesh rather than a jet of flame — Olicamp publish it as windproof and recommend it for “group use in variable weather conditions.” The 1.5 liter pot has heat-exchange fins on the base, which is where the fast boil time comes from.

Fuel is sold separately — and we do not ship it

This takes a standard screw-on butane/propane canister. Liberty, who distribute Olicamp, describe the fitting on their own canisters as a standard screw-on Lindal valve, which is the common threaded camping-gas fitting you will find in any outdoor shop.

We do not stock or ship the canisters. They are classed as hazardous freight — flammable liquefied gas under pressure — which means no air shipping and a certified shipper. Buy them locally; they are inexpensive and universally available.

One honest note: Olicamp never print the thread standard on their stove pages, only “screw-on butane/propane.” We are not going to quote a standard number they do not publish.

Note the boil time is per 1 liter here, not per quart like the smaller Olicamp stoves — so it is not directly comparable to their figures.

What is in the box is not itemized. Olicamp describe it only as an “all-in-one stove/pot combo,” and they are explicit that the pot support ring is sold separately — that is the part that lets you use larger flat-bottomed pots on it.

No non-stick coating is claimed. Hard anodizing is a surface conversion of the aluminum itself, not a layer applied on top, and Olicamp make no non-stick claim for it. Expect to use a little oil.

About the “PFC free” label. Olicamp carry a data field on most of their range that reads “PFC Free: Yes.” We are telling you it exists and attributing it to them, and that is as far as we will go — there is no published test, standard or substance list behind it, so it is a supplier checkbox rather than a chemistry statement. We are not claiming PFAS-free, PTFE-free or Teflon-free for any Olicamp product, because Olicamp do not.
