The factory jack in most vehicles is designed for a flat driveway and a standard ride height. Lift a 4x4 on soft ground, at an angle, with a lift kit and larger tires, and it is out of its depth — often literally, sinking into whatever you are stuck in.

A bottle jack gives you the lifting capacity and the stability the factory jack does not. The kit format is the useful part: extensions and adapters for the different heights and mounting points a lifted vehicle actually presents, all in one bag rather than scattered through the truck.
