The small-bottle problem, solved once. Nalgene’s medium kit is a set of their own lab-grade small bottles: six leakproof bottles ranging from 1 oz to 4 oz, two storage jars and two dispensing caps — that is Nalgene’s own description of the contents, word for word.

For a vehicle that means decanting the things you only need a little of: soap, bug dope, chain lube, thread locker, hot sauce, contact solution, a few days of a prescription. These are the bottles that do not weep into the bottom of a bag.

Nalgene’s own warning, which belongs on the page: “jars are not recommended for liquid storage.” The bottles are the leakproof part; the jars are for creams, balms and powders.

Two things we could not pin down. Nalgene’s description says six bottles, while the photograph on their own page shows nine bottles and two containers. We cannot reconcile those, so we are quoting the description and flagging the picture. And they do not break down which sizes make up the six — only the 1 oz to 4 oz range. If the exact mix matters for what you are decanting, ask us before you order.

No TSA claim. Nalgene makes no TSA, 3-1-1 or carry-on statement about this kit, and there is no bag with it to be a 3-1-1 bag. The bottle sizes are what they are; the conclusion is yours to draw.

Lifetime guarantee

Nalgene covers functional damage — cracks, breaks, broken components from normal intended use — under a Lifetime Guarantee. It excludes cosmetic damage such as scratches, nicks and worn printing, excludes lost or stolen items, and excludes Epic filtration products, which Nalgene routes to Epic Water Filters. Nalgene also states that claims are subject to review and may be rejected. Claims go through Nalgene with a photo and proof of purchase; they ask for 14 to 21 days.
