Ball bungees are how you secure a tarp to a canopy frame, a rack or a set of poles without destroying it. Loop the cord through the grommet, round the frame, and hook the ball. Ten seconds, no knots.

The real argument for them over rope is that they stretch. A tarp tied rigid tears at the grommets the first time the wind gets under it; a tarp on bungees moves a little and survives. Kotap makes the same point: they prolong the life of tarps and grommets by allowing slight movement.

Twenty-five to a pack, which sounds like a lot until you start using them — then they end up on the awning, the roof load, the firewood, and the trailer cover.
