A packable hand grinder with a ceramic conical burr and an adjustable grind. The handle is removable and the whole unit nests, so it takes almost no space in a camp box.

Burr, not blade — that is the entire point. A blade grinder smashes beans into a mix of dust and chunks, and the dust over-extracts while the chunks under-extract. That is why bad coffee tastes both bitter and sour at once. A conical burr crushes every bean to the same size, which is the single biggest thing you can do for a cup.

Adjustable grind matters because the rest of this range wants different settings: coarse for a JavaPress, medium for the Coffee Rocket or a Java Drip, fine for the MiniEspresso. One grinder covers all of it.

Built from stainless steel, silicone and co-polyester — GSI call it a durable build "for years of service".

Grinding beans at camp instead of carrying pre-ground is the difference people actually taste. Ground coffee goes flat within days; whole beans keep for weeks. If you are going to carry a press, carry the grinder.

Caution from GSI: do not operate the grinder without the grounds cup and lid attached.
