An alcohol stove is the quietest, simplest and lightest way to boil water. There is no pump, no jet, no valve and no cartridge — a cup of fuel, a wick and a flame. Nothing in it can fail, it works at any altitude, and the fuel is available anywhere in the world under half a dozen names. The trade is that it is slower than gas and the flame is hard to see in daylight.

The stove and the good stand, bought together. Contents, per Evernew: the titanium alcohol stove, the DX upper stand and the DX lower stand — the pair that holds a pot and shields the flame.

What is in the box

• Titanium alcohol stove — 34 g, Ø71 × 42 mm, 70 ml fuel capacity, boils 400 ml on 30 ml of alcohol
• DX upper stand — Ø82 × 60 mm
• DX lower stand — Ø80 × 50 mm
• All titanium, made in Japan
• No pot
• No fuel
• Total weight — not published by Evernew

What is not in it: no pot and no fuel. If you want the pot too, the Ti Mug Pot 500 Stove Set is this set plus a 550 ml titanium pot, at 161 grams all in.

No fuel is included and we do not ship it. This burns alcohol only — denatured alcohol or methylated spirit, which you can buy at a hardware store or pharmacy. Evernew’s own note is that if you buy alcohol fuel at a pharmacy you can boil water with it.

Warranty

Evernew offer a one-year limited warranty. Not a lifetime guarantee — we mention it because several brands in this category do offer one and it would be easy to assume.
