A plastic tick removal tool. For people and animals.

The gentle turning action removes the tick intact. That is the entire point and it is worth understanding why: squeezing a tick with fingers or ordinary tweezers compresses its body and can push what is in it back into the bite, and pulling straight up snaps the mouthparts off under your skin.

Turning lifts the whole animal out. Contactless — you never handle the tick.

Works on dogs as well as people, which is how most households meet their first tick.

Put one in the glovebox and one in the first aid kit. Ticks are found at the end of the day, usually at home, usually by someone who has no tool and ends up improvising with fingernails. Five dollars solves that permanently.

After removal, clean the bite and keep an eye on it. A spreading rash or fever in the following weeks is a reason to see a doctor.
