A take-down pack axe: the head separates from the handle so it stores flat in a pack.

The problem with carrying an axe in a pack is that an axe is an awkward shape with an exposed edge. A take-down design solves both — nothing sticking out, nothing cutting through the bag.

Assembles in seconds and splits kindling and small rounds once together.

This is backpacking and motorcycle-camping gear. If you have a truck bed, the full hatchet is more axe for the money.
