A French press and the mug you drink it from, in one piece of 18/8 stainless. Fifteen fluid ounces, vacuum insulated, 4 x 3 x 8.6 inches. In the box: the press mug, a sealable lid with a loop, and a non-slip foot.

The part worth understanding before you buy: there is no plunger rod. GSI replaced it with a sliding inner carafe, so nothing sticks up through your coffee while you drink and the sleeve adds another layer of insulation. It is genuinely clever and it is also the thing people misread from the photos — if you are expecting a conventional press with a rod and a screen, this is not that.

Vacuum insulation means it holds heat and cold properly rather than nominally. The non-slip foot keeps it upright and fits most car cup holders, and there is a leash point for clipping it to a pack.

Not the same product as our 30 oz JavaPress, which is a copolyester carafe with a conventional plunger and twice the volume. Different size, different material, different mechanism.

Using it

Coarse ground coffee only. Stand it on a dry, stable surface. The lid can leak if it is not upright. Let it cool before cleaning or taking it apart. It is a vacuum-insulated vessel — never put it on a heat source of any kind.

Care

Hand wash with warm, soapy water and dry thoroughly; avoid abrasive cleaners. GSI do not list any of their coffee gear as dishwasher safe, and several pages warn that dishwashers may age components early. Hand wash it.
