Victron SmartSolar MPPT 150/35 Solar Charge Controller – Bluetooth, 12/24/48V
$228.00
Steps up to 35A and 150V of panel input — room for a full roof of solar on a 12V system, with Bluetooth setup and monitoring.
The 150/35 is where most serious overland solar arrays land. 35 amps of charge current covers roughly 500W of panel on a 12V system, which is a full roof on most trucks and SUVs, or a decent array on a van.
The 150V input is the useful part
The higher input voltage lets you wire panels in series rather than parallel. Series wiring means less current in the cable from roof to controller, which means thinner wire and less voltage drop — a real advantage when the run from the roof down to the electrical bay is long. It also helps in cold weather, when panel voltage rises.
It handles partial shade better too. A panel with a shadow across it drags down a parallel string badly; with the headroom of a 150V input you have more options for how to wire around the problem.
Set up from your phone
Bluetooth built in. Battery chemistry, charge profile, live monitoring and 30-day history through VictronConnect. Pair it with a SmartShunt and the app shows you solar in and battery state together, which is how you actually learn what your system does.

Sizing
35A suits roughly 500W of panel at 12V. If you are running less than 300W, the 100/20 saves you money. If you are over 600W, look at the 150/45 or 150/70. Send us your panel wattage and layout and we will size it properly.
