An enclosure is a step beyond walls. Walls close the awning in; an enclosure gives you four walls and a floor — a sealed room off the side of the vehicle, off the dirt, that you can leave standing while you drive away in the morning if you are staying more than a night.

That floor is the part people underrate. It keeps dust, mud and insects out of a space you are going to be barefoot in, and it makes the difference between a shelter and somewhere you actually want to sit at the end of a long day.

Sized to the 2.5, the 8 ft straight awning, so it encloses the largest floor area of the straight-awning enclosures. Grey body with green trim.

Enclosures are model-specific. The 2.0, the 2.5 and the 270/180 each take their own. Check the model name on your awning's travel cover before ordering.

Fabric and warranty: 280G ripstop poly-cotton oxford with a 3500 PU waterproof rating. HD carries a 4 year fabric warranty and a 4 year structural warranty.
